FORT MYERS, FL – Construction nears completion on the first phase of Fort Myers Avenue Shops, a Southwest Florida Lifestyle Center composed of several retail buildings on Cleveland Avenue (U.S. 41), between Page Field Commons and Bell Tower Shops. The project involves a dramatic transformation of existing shopping centers occupying over a quarter-mile of highway frontage in the heart of Fort Myers’ Cleveland Avenue shopping district. All existing businesses remain open during construction, with ample parking and easy access for shoppers.
The first phase includes the remodeled exteriors of buildings 11521, 11601, and 11609, home of FOS furniture store, Amazon Grill restaurant, and new, expanded stores for Dan’s Fan City and Noble Jewelers. Development plans for Fort Myers Avenue Shops have also drawn interest from well-known national restaurants and retailers seeking a prominent position in Southwest Florida’s booming retail market.
Development includes extensive landscaping throughout the property and along Cleveland Avenue, with creation of a main boulevard entrance with traffic signal. The new architecture will create an upscale shopping environment, with decorative lighting and signs, paver walkways and planters, pedestrian plazas, fountains, seating areas, and a food court with patio dining.
Fort Myers Avenue Shops currently includes a wide array of both national and local businesses, including Fed/Ex Kinko’s Copy Center, Honey Baked Hams, Subway, FOS Furniture Stores, Pinch-A-Penny, Dan’s Fan City, Noble Jewelers, Dinettes Unlimited, Ocean Environments, and Healthy Habits.
Developer ORBIS Properties sees the location as the perfect setting for a true lifestyle center. Fort Myers Avenue Shops is just south of Page Field Airport and immediately adjacent to a national chain hotel and large office complex, positioning the center to serve business people and commuters in addition to the local residents and tourists.
According to Rodney A. Fidler, Jr., CCIM, the leasing agent for Fort Myers Avenue Shops, “a few stores are immediately available to businesses who want to be part of this limited opportunity”. Attractive lease rates and terms are available for: restaurants, greeting card & gift shop, home furnishings and accessories stores, fashion retailers, florist, wine and liquor store, and electronics and appliance stores. Further information may be obtained from Rodney Fidler at (239) 470-2317. Fidler Real Estate Services handles marketing and leasing, while ORBIS Properties manages the center. The leasing and management offices are on site, at 11759 Cleveland Avenue, Suite 35.
ORBIS Properties is a New York-based investment company with a growing stake in Southwest Florida. The company is also developing Colonial Executive Park, where it is currently introducing twin two-story office buildings, comprising 25,000 sq. ft. of professional / medical offices, the New Brittany Corporate Center, a two-story office building in the College Parkway business district, and the Shops at Jamaica Bay, a retail center under construction on U.S. 41, just south of Gladiolus Drive.
